Directed by David Slade, written by Melissa Rosenberg (from Stephenie Meyer‘s novel), starring Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner, and featuring Bryce Dallas Howard, Kellan Lutz, Ashley Greene, Xavier Samuel, Dakota Fanning, and Peter Facinelli, among others, Eclipse‘s nine-day total currently stands at $203.66m. Eclipse is currently on the number 10 spot among the fastest movies to reach $200m on the Box Office Mojo chart (not adjusted for inflation). This year, only Toy Story 3 is ahead on the chart, having crossed the $200m milestone with $208m on Day 9. If inflation were taken into account, Eclipse would be down one spot at no. 11.

Dakota Fanning had her sights set on becoming a tennis player before becoming an actress.

The teen star says she was keen to follow in the footsteps of her sporty parents until she discovered the bright lights of Hollywood.

“My mom went to college on a full scholarship for tennis, my dad played minor-league baseball and my grandfather was a quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles,” she said.

“So before I started acting the plan for me was to be a tennis player – that was the plan for me and my mum had me in tennis classes.

“One day I went to her and told her I really love the outfits but it’s just too hot – it’s just too hot for me to play tennis and I didn’t want to play anymore.

“I did play soccer and my team was called the Spice Girls, I was Baby Spice.

“I was playing in a game one day and I got the ball for the first time and I was so excited and I was running and running.

“There was nobody around me, I was thinking this is an easy game, then I kicked it into the goal and was so excited.

“I turned around and nobody was cheering for me and nobody was proud of me — and I then realized I’d kicked it in the wrong goal — so I quit soccer too."

Dakota Fanning was thrilled to catch Britney Spears' Circus tour in 2009, insisting it was like reliving the time she bumped into the singer as a child. The "Twilight" movie series actress first moved to Los Angeles when she began working in commercials at the age of five, and she quickly became one of the biggest child stars in Hollywood.

Fanning had her first celebrity moment in a California store after moving to the state when she first met the "Toxic" superstar. She says, "I went to a Britney Spears concert with my best friend and her sister. I was so excited!"

"(She) was really the first famous person I met when I came to California. I met her in a store when I was six years old, and I was so starstruck by her and I just loved her so much. Getting to go to her Circus tour was like reliving (that)."

It's not quite so weird that the majority of the cast of "The Twilight Saga" have cardboard cutouts designed after them (a new version for each film, we might add), but what's weird is what the fans do with them. But the real question is: when you're an actor with a cutout made of you, how do you use it to your benefit?



Such is the predicament that faces Dakota Fanning, who admits that she has a Jane cutout currently residing in her house. Apparently, at the moment, it's her dad who is playing the most tricks against the family with Dakota's goth vampire likeness.

"Sometimes my dad puts it out and you go downstairs in the middle of the night for some water or something and you're like, oh my god, who is this person?" Dakota said with a laugh. "For the first month we had it, it scared everyone."

Dakota, who was paired in the interview with Xavier Samuel and Bryce Dallas Howard, clearly hasn't been thinking of the most obvious ways to abuse having a 2-D doppelganger in her house.

Xavier suggested that she put it at her desk so she can pretend she's studying, while Bryce said she should put it under the covers in her bed so she can sneak out at night.

Dakota Fanning’s little sister loves Twilight so much she has made an android called Robot Pattinson - how cute is that? xD

The 16-year-old actress plays an evil vampire in the film franchise which also stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. Dakota loves appearing in the movies, but says her little sister Elle is even more fascinated with the storylines than she is.

"My 12-year-old sister is obsessed,” Dakota told the Chicago Sun-Times. “She has the cut-outs of Rob and Taylor. She's making a robot at school and named it Robot-Pattinson. I love that people of so many ages love it.”

Dakota is currently filming Breaking Dawn parts one and two, the final films in the Twilight film franchise. She can’t believe the series will soon end because she has enjoyed playing an evil character so much.

"Being part of Twilight is still so surreal to me," she said. “My character is obviously not the nicest person. It's fascinating to be able to play someone who takes pleasure in hurting people. It's a weird thing to do."

Her opinion on kissing Kristen Stewart in The Runaways:

” It’s out of the way, and it was with my friend and a girl - no pressure. It was not something Cherie [Currie] and Joan [Jett] ever really spoke about, and that’s how it was filmed - as not that big of a deal.”

And on growing up in the business?

“When you start out young, people get really attached to who you are at 6 years old. I hope that The Runaways was kind of a moment to be like, ‘You know, I’m not that young little girl anymore, but I’m still not all grown up, either.”

Dakota is stressing out about her college applications a year ahead of high school graduation.

The Twilight actress is worried she has failed her ACT test - a standardized exam for students that can weigh heavily on admissions to high-ranking universities.

And the 16 year old is facing her worst fear while waiting for the results - that she may not get in to the college of her choice.

She explains, "I took the ACT. I got the email today saying, 'Your scores are on the way.' So now I know to watch for the envelope and hide it for a few weeks.

"I'm just afraid I didn't do well because I came out (of the exam) and I was like, 'Oh, that was easy! That was not hard.' My confidence is completely gone."
